【BUYING A MOTHER'S DAY GIFT】
Jessie: Mike, we need to talk about what to get Mom for Mother's Day.
Mike: Well, a card obviously. And I was thinking maybe we could get her a bunch of carnations.
Jessie: Yeah, but we get her that every year. How about we get her a different gift this year?
Mike: I don't mind getting her something else, but I think we should still get carnations because, you know, it's a tradition.
Jessie: Well, I was thinking of getting her a nice scarf.2 I saw a really beautiful cashmere one that I think she’ll love.
Mike: All right. I'll get the card and the flowers, and you pick up the scarf. We can figure out the total amount and split it later.
Jessie: Sounds good to me.

潔西：麥克，我們得討論母親節禮物要買什麼。
麥克：嗯，卡片是一定要的，我在想也許我們可以送她一束康乃馨。
潔西：好啊，但我們每年都送她這個，我們今年送她不同的禮物如何？

說明感冒症狀 Asking Patients About Their Conditions

Nurse: Good morning, Mr. Morris. What's bothering you today?
Patient: I think I'm coming down with a cold. I feel terrible right now.
Nurse: I'm very sorry to hear that. What are your symptoms?
Patient: I've got a sore throat and a runny nose. My ears are plugged up. I think I have a temperature, too.
Nurse: Do you have any aches and pains? Does your head hurt?
Patient: No, my head doesn't hurt, and neither does the rest of my body.
Nurse: Well, it doesn't sound too bad then. How long have you had these symptoms?
Patient: I started feeling sick last night after I got home from work.
Nurse: Okay. Let me check your temperature and pulse. The doctor will be in to see you in just a few moments.

護士：早安，莫里斯先生。您今天哪裡不舒服？
病患：我猜我感冒了，我現在很不舒服。
護士：很遺憾聽您這麼說，您有哪些症狀呢？
病患：我喉嚨痛，一直流鼻水，耳朵堵堵的，我想我也發燒了。
護士：您有任何地方會酸痛嗎？您的頭會痛嗎？
病患：不會，頭跟身體其他地方都不會痛。
護士：好，那聽起來不嚴重。您有這些症狀多久了？
